Ralph Sexton Sr.
Known all over the country for his homespun wisdom and unwavering war with Satan, Dr. Sexton preached from thousands of pulpits with a fervor few have matched. His pulpits were in the streets, in churches, in prisons, in tents, on radio and television, anywhere he could gather a group of people together. Three times he was arrested in Asheville for disturbing the peace while preaching on the streets or through a mobile loudspeaker. In 1966 he established Trinity Baptist in Asheville, now pastured by his son, Ralph Sexton, Jr., and together they have nurtured the congregation and watched it grow to megachurch size.
